Grass Fed Beef Biltong - (16oz) - Free Shipping!

This is our Certified Grass Fed Beef Biltong. We use only the finest certified Grass Fed Beef. Mostly we source our beef from ranches in North Dakota, where the farms are usually 5th generation family businesses, and the cows are happy. No Hormones, no antibiotics. I was skeptical at first as to the taste of grass fed biltong. We just recently finished curing the first batch, and let me tell you, it is delicious. The taste reminds us of biltong from back home. The meat has a stronger, nicer flavor with a more earthy, meaty flavor...hard to describe, but I for one am sold. Not to mention the huge health benefits of eating meat from animals that have grazed naturally and lived happy healthy lives...it just tastes right. What is Biltong? Biltong is a delicious cured meat with its origins in Southern Africa. At Braaitime we endeavor to create the most perfectly crafted biltong ever made. We take the finest beef in the USA, gently cure it in a secret brine and spice mixture, and then hang the beef in our climate controlled drying room, set to a cool dry temperature at all times. “The Namaqualand desert at night” is the environment we strive for as this is the ideal habitat for the young biltong. The Biltong sways sulkily in it’s breezy cave for 21 days. The process is slow…much slower than commercial producers, but the result is a delicious succulent morsel of artisan beef. Get yours ‘wet’ if you like it soft and buttery, to be enjoyed as a side with a cheese platter. Or order yourself the ‘dry’ version if you are more of a Jerky fan and need something that will travel well in your rucksack or complement that local IPA microbrew at the next barbeque. People have told us this product makes for the perfect addition to their Paleo style diets. Biltong is an excellent source of high quality protein, the meat is slow cured and not cooked, so the natural enzymes are intact and allow your body to easily digest the high quality protein. Gluten free, no MSG, no Nitrates no chemical preservatives, no additives or unnatural flavourings are ever added to our product. We grind and prepare our secret recipe spices in small fresh batches from all natural whole food spices. When we say all natural we mean all natural. Learn More

  5. Venison Biltong

Venison Biltong 2oz packs - Free Shipping!

Its back, by popular demand! Especially for our fans of exotic meats... Venison Biltong. A marriage of US exotic meat and South African biltong genius. And as with that buffalo biltong we made last month... there is not a lot of it....If you want to try it, buy it, because it will sell out in hours for sure. This exotic little morsel is in my opinion fairly close to a delicious Springbok biltong, but is more tender. And no we did not shoot the deer ourselves for this. The meat we used is certified natural tender venison, supplied by a registered USDA supplier of course. The cost is not the same as for regular beef biltong but then again neither is the taste. It is a truly tasty, rich, lean meat. Tender and pleasant to chew and swallow. It does not have a strong 'gameness' either. All together a delicious experience. ENJOY FOLKS! Learn More
